Try Visiting Sri Lanka

Enjoy a Tropical Paradise

You will find the tropical setting of Sri Lanka just off the coast India, this beautiful island is without doubt one of the most scenically interesting islands in the world with a whole host of mystical ancient cities, thick jungles, precious stones, miles of palm fringed beaches and where costs are low and the natives are incredibly warm and welcoming to tourists.

Sri Lanka has a total of 7 UNESCO World Heritage Sites and each is as impressive as the next. The sites are linked throughout the country's colourful history starting from 380BC going through to the Portuguese, Dutch and British colonial eras. The country is a mixture of both natural and manmade wonders, such as ancient and sacred cities, colonial strongholds, cave temples and virgin forests. The sacred city of Anuradhapura once had 9-storey palaces and domes, known as dagobas, which tourists come to marvel at its ruins and statues. Explore the cave temples of Dambulla, and the magnificent temples and palaces of the royal city of Kandy during your stay.

The largest elephant population is found in Uda Walawe and at the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage you can feed the baby elephants. Sinharaja is Sri Lanka's last remaining virgin rainforest with amazing bird watching on offer for those keen ornithologists. Yala National Park is the country's top wildlife reserve and is home to the world's highest concentration of leopards. Tourist can also see other animals including elephants, sloth bears and crocodiles. Swim with the exotic fish whilst snorkelling or diving. If you find that you have any time left, why not pay a visit to the Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens and check out the island's highest waterfall at Bambarakande.
