A museum town from the Bulgarian National Revival period with typical architecture and interesting
cultural monuments: 120 museum houses with murals and fretwork, the Holy Trinity Church (1835) with
a 30 m high belfry, and the 14th century Blessed Virgin Church with a unique carved iconostasis, a
permanent ethnographic exhibition and an exhibition of icons from the Bansko School of Painting.
Bulgaria's newest ski center with a long sunny winter, lasting snow cover, ski season from December
